500 Years Young

Aiolina, is a classic 16th century farmhouse perched on a hill overlooking the vineyards of Aiola, the locally celebrated Chianti DOC. Close to Siena south of Strada 222 in Chianti Classico, Aiolina is for those seeking a great location and affordability. I love the character of these old places: stone walls and timber ceiling with handmade furniture, the wood, iron and stonework. With its beginnings in the middle ages, the five comfortable and fully renovated apartments show that the owner has sought to balance history, authenticity and charm with modern comforts you seek today. A true Tuscan experience, while seeking affordability. The swimming pool (6x12 m.) has been landscaped in harmony with the surrounding countryside and fun too. Perfect for couples and small families seeking real value in Italy.

Vagliagli is a typical Tuscan village set high on its hilltop with views stretching for miles over the surrounding countryside. It grew up around the fortified castle of Aiolina, an outpost of Siena, during the endless conflicts with its great rival, Florence. It is now a small cluster of houses 12 km north of Siena, with an excellent restaurant, some food stores and a post office; the main road between Siena and Florence is within easy reach. L'Aiolina is situated just outside the village.
