Villa Virginia, Cernobbio Lake Como, provides the elegance of a 19th century Lake Como villa, an unbeatable location and address, and an affordability for those that seek the Lake Como villa lifestyle but do not want to paty the price. The villa straddles Cernobbio (made famous by Villa D'Este) and Laglio (made famous by George Clooney). Villa Virginia was built long ago by a noble Swiss family seeking a summer vacation house, and has provided generations of the family to build memories. Fast forward to today and the same Swiss family comes south to holiday here, but after a complete 2008 renovation Villa Virgina is ready again for prime time and the 21st century. Villa Virginia is tastefully furnished with modern comfort and its history, retaining many of its original characteristics such as tapestries and choice of fabrics, oil paintings and antiques. The floors are a wooden parquet, with craftsman inlay and family furnishing come with a modern kitchen, WIFI Internet connection and Plasma TV. A perfect combination of old and new.
The villa is directly on the road, and set in a manicured garden. As with all the lake shore villas, the lake road is located behind the rental. However, it is not the main lake Como road but a local one, therefore somewhat less traveled. Although all the rooms except one face the lake, the windows are provided with triple glass to reduce any road noise. On the 70sqm wide terrace opening directly on the lake you can enjoy the view and sunbathe in full privacy. A lake access for swimming is also available. apartment is 51 sq meters large and it is on the ground floor.

The Details:
Villa Virgina is 600 square meters (about 6000 square feet), and has three floors plus a basement. The property is que large too - set on a 2000 sqm of private property with access to the lake and a private dock.
Ground floor:
Spacious dining room with fireplace and French doors opening to the panoramic terrace
A large living room with comfortable sofas and chairs, period furniture, satellite plasma TV, and French doors opening to the terrace, offering a beautiful lake view. The dining room has a large fireplace and French doors opening to the panoramic terrace as well. The kitchen, modern by all standards, has a five - burner stovetop, oven, dishwasher, espresso machine, fridge, and microwave. There is a bathroom with shower.
First floor sleeps 10:
Study room with ADSL Internet connection (an extra bed can be added upon request, with cost - please note that this room is accessed by glass doors, thus limited privacy), four double bedrooms each with open lake view. The sizes of the beds are cm 150 x cm 205, 175 x cm 195, cm 150 x 190 and 140 x 195 (all are more or less queen sized), and one twin bedroom with garden views (the beds cannot be put together and turned into a double bed). The size of these beds are cm 95 x 190 and 90 x 190 (singles). There two bathrooms on this floor. Both are marble bathrooms, one with a tub and held shower attachment. The other with Jacuzzi bath tub.
Mansard (no lake view from this floor) sleeps 7:
One large double bedroom cm 170 x cm 195 (can't be separated) with adjoining single bed cm82 x cm192, TV, and wardrobe, Two twin bedrooms (beds are cm 89 x cm 200, cm 80 x cm 190, cm 109 x cm 195 and cm 84 x cm 195). Large bathroom with a shower and a Jacuzzi tub, and a second bathroom with a shower.
Basement:
Laundry room with washing machine, 70 square meter terrace, private dock, parking for 4 cars, and an underpass (10 steps) that connects the villa to the caretaker's house.

This part of the Lake from Como to Tremezzo is a sophisticated resort, where you cannot find isolated or rural areas, here you come for the scenery, for shopping breathing the luxury, enjoying the views from the stylish restaurants and cafes. The ancient villages and enchanting gardens are the setting for the historical villas of the Lombardy aristocracy and offer pleasant stay at any time of the year. The best way to enjoy the views of the ancient villas and their gardens is by boat and this can easily be done by taxi boat from the private dock of the villa or by the pier of the Navigazione dei Laghi ferries located at 400 meters.
COMO
The city of Como, is 7 km from the villa and can be easily reached by ferry (10 minutes), and by bus. The old city centre is surrounded by in the old medieval walls, here you can enjoy the view of charming corners, ancient monuments and lots of fashionable shops.
BELLAGIO
One of the most romantic village on Lake Como, Bellagio, also known as the "Pearl of the Lake". It is a small town with pastel coloured houses offers many itineraries on foot and spectacular views. A visit to the gardens of Villa Melzi cannot be missed. About 19 km from the villa to Cadenabbia, and then 10 minutes by ferry to Bellagio.
ISOLA COMACINA
Isola Comacina, is the only island in Lake Como, it is full of history, and memories. The Locanda dell'isola is a unique and exclusive restaurant where at the end of your dinner you will enjoy the long-standing ritual of the flambe coffee prepared and offered by the owner to his guests. About 8 km from the villa: By boat about 10 minutes away across the lake.
