Michele and Ada
Casa Volpe is a renovated and perfectly cared for farmhouse in Lucca Tuscany. It is the handy work of Guila, a doctor and a proud Lucchese who is very focused on her guests having a holiday in Lucca they will always remember. Gulia has the energy of General Electric. She also owns a renovated monastery nearby.
Gulia did an amazing job in renovating this classic, sprawling Tuscan rental. It is actually two rentals sleeping 8 people each, Michele and Ada that come either separately or together for a group of 16. After many years of representing Guila’s Volpe, no one had a negative comment about her or Volpe - no one. Great place and very popular. It can be difficult to rent because of the returning demand. Everything about this is perfect - the interior is stylish, authentic and comfortable, the outdoor areas, the al fresco and the swimming pool enjoyed down the sculpted garden steps. Casa Michele and Ada are about as impressive as a country house can be.

I Love Lucca
Lucca is arguably the best city in Tuscany. There are many reasons Lucca makes an excellent base to explore the best (and hidden best of Tuscany. I fondly call it "Florence without the scooters, people or museums." But still enough great restaurants, piazze, cafes, gelati and upscale shopping to attract the discerning folk. The historic city has completely retained the original thick walls around the centro storico. As the wide walls lost their military importance, they became as they are today: a pedestrian park that rings the city entirely providing a wonderful view of the countryside and city below. I suggest renting a bike and seeing the city that way - on the walls and off. Here is a quick guide to my personal recommended restaurants in Lucca.
